Many may have heard about KL Bird Park, but how many of us actually visited this must visit spot among tourists?

Growing up in Kuala Lumpur, I never visited this place at all despite it's strategic location smacking right in the center of the city.

So of course this is my first encounter with Hornbill Restaurant & Cafe too.

Ambiance

There is no difficulties in locating this restaurant at all, just set "Hornbill Restaurant & Cafe" on your Google Map or Waze, you will be lead straight to the entrance of it.

You may have to go through a bit of inner road in the Lake Gardens before reaching KL Bird Park.

Plenty of car parks available outside, at no charge.

Outdoor seating area, very shady, but not cool breeze, it gets kind of warm during noon time.
Indoor seating is available too, no worry!

This is the view you get if you opt for an al-fresco dining experience, the KL Bird Park right in front of your eyes.

Since KL Bird Park is reputed to be the largest walk-in free-flight aviary in the world, so do expect intruders, they will grab your food, out of your plate.

Hornbill Restaurant & Cafe serves a wide variety of food to suit everyone's taste bud, from local delights to international menu, since this is a popular tourist spot.

Side Orders

Malaysian usually have big appetite, we usually like to order side orders to share on top of our own dish.

1. Pisang Goreng, RM5.90

The famous Malaysian local delights, crispy on the outside, sweet and warm banana inside.

2. Keropok Lekor, RM5.90

Another famous local delights, fried fish finger.

I would say my favorite is the chicken chop, the sauce is special and tasty. Usually I have the least expectation when comes to chicken chop, because most of them just taste the same or simply bland, some more this is a commercial touristy restaurant (in my opinion).
I was wrong, I was amazed by how good their chicken chop tasted.

If you are looking for a different place or companion for your meal, this is the place to be.
